Josie was discovered by a scout after appearing in a fashion show that she was asked to appear in while she was at a barbecue in her home town.
Josie Maran was born and raised just outside San Francisco in Menlo Park.
Josie attended Castilleja School, an all-girls' school in Palo Alto, California.
She featured in 'Sports Illustrated Swimsuit' in 2000 & 2001.
Josie also appeared in the book 'A second decade of Guess? Images'.

On late 2005, Josie decided to take a break from Hollywood and has moved to Oahu's North Shore. She is now teaching children.
Josie quit smoking and started eating organically and doing yoga a few years ago claiming she respects her body more and wants to be healthy forherself and [then future] children.
Josie is currently with photographer Ali Alborzi and the couple has one daughter, Rumi Joon, born on June 20, 2006.
